Launched in 2013 as an initiative by InvestHK, StartmeupHK seeks to promote Hong Kong as a startup destination, connect entrepreneurs, and create a vibrant ecosystem that draws innovative, high impact ventures from around the world to our city.
The festival will feature keynotes from world-renowned speakers, interactive how-to sessions, hackathons, and valuable lessons from celebrated founders and investors in fintech, healthtech, smart city technologies, IOT, retail and logistics innovation, edtech and much more.
The Connected Cities Conference on Jan.24, hosted by KPMG, is a gathering of industry leaders, government representatives and entrepreneurs from around the world, aiming to share and showcase innovations for the next generation of city living and examine what it means to enhance a city’s liveability, workability and sustainability.
Also Smart City Developer Community (the Community) was formally kicked off at the Connected Cities Conference 2019 on January 24 by the government, industry leaders and academia. The Community is set up as part of the Smart City Digital Hub with an ultimate goal to support Hong Kong’s roadmap towards a sustainable connected city.
Hong Kong remains a top destination for innovation and technology companies, as indicated by fresh data published by Invest Hong Kong earlier today. Actually, InvestHK assisted 99 companies engaged in the innovation and technology sectors to set up or expand in Hong Kong in 2018.
InvestHK’s Director-General of Investment Promotion, Stephen Phillips, attributed investors’ interest in Hong Kong on core advantages and emerging business opportunities, especially in light of the Belt and Road initiative and the latest developments in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay area.
